'FRN and The King of Performance Art' -- Or -- 'The Sock-Puppet Ball: A Story in Links and Pictures'

'Beans'?   Or  'Mosby'?

'Royal Wedding'? Or a 'Royal Pain'? Royal parasites suck lifeblood out of host, says The Radical

By The Radical

I don't get it. What is this fascination with a royal wedding??

I remember the Summer after my community college graduation, all of these people were excited about the Royal Wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Spencer. People were attempting to catch naps the day before to be awake early in the morning to watch the royal nuptials. When I pointed out how much these festivities were costing the British people, I was deemed a 'sourpuss' and an 'anti-romantic'.

Well, here I go again. The Royal Family has been sucking at the British Public Teet for a long time. The thing to remember, is that royalty is only symbolic in the current scheme of things in British Government. So, once again, the taxpayers are forced to foot the bill for this spectacle despite the state of the British economy. I would think the citizenry would rise up and follow the lead exercised by their French cousins across the Channel and remove these Royal parasites with the use of sharp steel.

Or at least, if they are going to continue to use the House of Windsor as a symbol, change the Coat-Of-Arms to a truly meaningful symbol of the role of the modern British Royal Family by including leeches and lampreys. These creatures are known to suck the life blood out of their hosts, and with Queen Elizabeth II's worth estimated at 100 Million Pounds, these lampreys and leeches should both be enswollened, as well as have blood dripping out of their mouths. Guess I'm just an anti-romantic sourpuss!!

TCS Wages 'CLASS WARFARE' in The Radical's latest 'Shots From The Portside'

by The Radical
(First Aired late March 2011, part of our 'Class Warfare' show)

The Republican Party, when asked about their sense of entitlement to the greater share of the social wealth, accuse those who pose this inquiry as “waging class war”. These plutocrats , while sitting on their bags of gold, attempt to dismiss that line of questioning with that catch phrase , as an attempt to conceal their greed and to divert the attention away from their nefarious aims.

The concept of The Golden Rule to the G.O.P. and their ilk boils down to the old saw “ those with all the gold make all the rules”. And when the working class and the middle class attempt to either gain a greater share of the social wealth or protect their current share of the social wealth, the ruling class attempt to protect their piles of gold gained from the exploitation of the workforce , by using verbal camouflage , pointing their collective fingers at the working and middle classes and calling them “greedy” as they wrap their arms protectively around their ill-gotten gain.

Recent reception reports sent to The Crystal Ship

These reception reports were recently received by the shortwave radio pirate, The Crystal Ship.  Reports are confirmed by eQSL.  Send all reception reports with a 'new title' to tcsshortwave@gmail.com

================================================
Dear Mr. Poet,
The Crystal Ship put a nice signal into eastern Pennsylvania on 6816 AM Sunday. Using a Drake R8 and a dipole cut for 6955, your signal was S-7 or S-8 above S-5 noise. And, it was noisy! I wrote this at about 0945 EST Monday morning, after a round of thunderstorms rolled through. Likely, the noise last night (UTC) was from that storm. Regardless the noise, the words and music were clear and sharp and production values were excellent. That's the way to do pirate radio! (Or, commercial radio...)

Thanks to a post on the Grapevine, I tuned in at about 2246 UTC on 27 February and listened until 2321 when I broke for dinner. Returning at 0023 on 28 February, I found that The Crystal Ship was still on the air and I then listened until 0050 when you signed off. While I listened to the closing sequence I, for the first time, realized that the music was "Freedom of the Airwaves."

'Unlock' Modifications for ICOM, Kenwood transceivers

These modifications will "unlock" the transmit function on ham radio transceivers, so that they will transmit OUTSIDE of the amateur radio bands, rather than being restricted to those bands. This of course makes them ideal for use by shortwave pirate radio station operators. (This information was scraped from a website that no longer exists in its former form. I make no claim as to the accuracy of these modifications-- use at your own risk!)

These modifications "unlock" the transmitter sections of these transceivers, turning them into "general coverage" shortwave transmitters on the transmitter side.

Mods for:  Icom 735, 720, 745, 751, 430, 940, 440, 2600 ht

ICOM IC-735
To unlock the transmitter: cut diodes D33 and D34 that are standing on
end near the microprocessor section toward the rear top of the radio.

ICOM IC-720
Transmitter is unlocked by snipping the light blue wire that's at the
very end of the top hatch cover to the left middle side of the
transceiver.

ICOM IC-745
Locate the RF board on the side of the radio and cut the light brown
wire at jack 7., which is going to pin 1. Your transmitter is now
unlocked.

ICOM IC-751
Locate the RF board on the side of the radio and cut the black wire
going to pin 1 of jack 2. Your transmitter is now unlocked. (This
mod also described in _73_, July 1985 p. 12.)
